In Fake Life Report (2020)
This report, In Fake Life: A Study on Reality and Living in a Market Without IRL, explores how the pandemic reshaped experiences, consumption, and culture when daily life moved almost entirely online. Drawing on surveys and expert interviews, it examines the loss of spontaneity and physical connection, the rise of digital substitutes like remote work, online shopping, and streaming, and the tensions between convenience, authenticity, and meaning. The study highlights what people missed most about real life—serendipity, touch, and community—while considering which activities might remain digital and how the “experience economy” will reconstitute itself in a post-pandemic world.
